Programme
29 or fewer people: Polyshares’ programme
An operating company with 29 or fewer people goes to Polyshares. So does a closed company that had 24 or fewer, in any sector and any state.
Who this programme is for
Polyshares says who qualifies in one line: “Any company with real operating history, in any sector.” And on what matters: “The length and texture of the record matter more than headcount or revenue.”
Count everyone: office, field crews, drivers and part-timers. A company with 30 or more people, or a closed company that had 25 or more, has a different buyer, set out on the page for 30 or more people.
What Polyshares has paid
Polyshares publishes four deals on its case studies page. In its words, “Company names stay confidential.”
- Roofing company (Home services): $450,000
- General contractor (Construction): $300,000
- Solar company (Energy): $275,000
- Global marketing agency (Professional services): $110,000
Each is a “Perpetual exclusive license to the operational record.” On its home page: “Typical deals run $100K to $2M and above.”
A past deal doesn’t predict an offer. Polyshares prices each company, and our estimate is a range, not an offer. How each deal went is on what companies have been paid.
What leaves your systems, and when
Polyshares’ data handling page: “Nothing leaves your systems until Polyshares has made an offer and you have accepted it.” And: “Names, emails, phone numbers, account numbers, and addresses are removed or replaced by a specialist PII partner before Polyshares or any buyer sees the record.”
Customer names, payment details, health information and anything a client owns stay out. That is our advice, not Polyshares’. More on what stays with you is on How it’s safe.
Ownership and counsel
On its home page, Polyshares says: “You keep the business and the underlying data.”
Polyshares’ answer on whether selling company data is legal starts with ownership: “Confirming ownership is the one part that starts with the company, because only you hold your customer contracts.” It ends with counsel: “a company should have its own counsel review any license before signing.”
Your trade
What each trade keeps, record by record: roofing, HVAC, plumbing and auto repair.
Polyshares’ steps
Its case studies page sets out how each deal went: “Every license starts with the same intake used by any seller: a few questions about the company's systems and data.” Then: “We review the record and come back with an offer within one to two weeks.” And: “Once terms are signed and the data is anonymized and delivered, payment follows net 30 to 60.”
How to apply
Five questions, two minutes. The estimate checks your headcount and shows a range. When Polyshares fits, it links you to Polyshares’ own page, and you apply yourself. We never see your files.
