TrustPast Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

TrustPast (“TrustPast”, “we”, “us”) runs https://trustpast.com.

We help owners of established US businesses, and founders of businesses that have closed, find out if a data buyer would license a de-identified copy of the company’s retained business records. These records can include estimates, job files, change orders, project history, CRM data, and chat and email archives. The buyer uses them to train AI models. Qualifying companies apply to that buyer themselves, through our link.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who gets it, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it.

2. How the program works

  • We are an independent referral partner of micro1 and of Polyshares. Each is the purchaser under its own program and agreement.
  • Each pays us a referral fee when a company that applied through our link completes a deal.
  • Your company never pays us. We do not share our fee with any referred company.
  • You apply to the buyer yourself, through our link. We share nothing with either buyer.
  • We never receive, store or handle your company’s files or systems. Samples and data pass directly between your company and the buyer, under their own agreement.

3. Our website

  • The site is static pages. There are no accounts.
  • There is no analytics script or tracking pixel of any kind.
  • We use no cookies of our own. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie, __cf_bm, when it checks for automated traffic. It is strictly necessary, and nothing else is set.
  • Our traffic numbers come from Cloudflare, in aggregate, and from counting clicks on our links to the buyer (see 4.3).

4. What we collect and why

4.1 Estimate form

The form asks:

  • whether your company is operating or closed;
  • desk headcount now and at peak;
  • how many years of records you keep;
  • which systems hold the work;
  • your industry;
  • your email address, if you ask us to email you the range.

The form sends your answers to our own service at api.trustpast.com. We use them to:

  • show you a non-binding estimate range;
  • contact you about the program;
  • email you the range and, after you confirm your address, short notes about the programmes. You can unsubscribe from any of them in one click.

4.2 Referrer form

The referrer form asks for your name, firm, email, the kind of client you refer and, if you choose, your number of clients. We use it to reply to you, to issue your tracked link, and to attribute and pay referral shares on partnerships that complete through it. We never ask for or store your clients’ details.

Both forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, a check against automated submissions, which may set a Cloudflare cookie in your browser.

Our links to the buyer go through api.trustpast.com/go/. We count the clicks on them. If you asked us to email your range, we link your click to the answers you sent. A referrer’s link also carries a referral id, which we use to attribute clicks for fee shares.

4.4 Business email outreach

We email people at companies we believe may qualify. We use business contact details from the companies’ own websites and from public sources. These include public government notices, such as WARN Act filings. The details are a name, business email address, company name and job title, plus public business facts about the company (size, years in operation, systems used) from the company’s own website and public sources.

Every email we send:

  • carries our postal address;
  • gives you a way to opt out.

We honor opt-outs within 10 business days. We then keep your address on a suppression list so we never contact you again. We follow the US CAN-SPAM Act.

Some people reach us through MSPs, bookkeepers, fractional CFOs, M&A advisors or wind-down firms. A referrer shares a tracked link with you; referrers give us no details about you.

4.6 Emails with us

When you write to us or reply to our emails, we keep that correspondence.

5. Who we share it with

5.1 The buyers

We share nothing with micro1 or Polyshares. You apply to the buyer yourself, through our link.

5.2 Our service providers

These companies process information for us to run our business:

  • Cloudflare: website hosting edge, DNS, and Turnstile, the check against automated form submissions.
  • Google Workspace: email.
  • Postmark: sending our opt-in emails, from mail.trustpast.com.
  • Smartlead: sending email and handling replies.
  • Attio: our customer records (CRM).
  • MillionVerifier and BounceBan: checking that business email addresses are valid before we send.

Your information is stored in the US and the EU with these providers, and in our own records.

6. How long we keep it

  • Form data and correspondence: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
  • Consent logs: for the life of any referral that results, plus 3 years.
  • Opt-out records: indefinitely, so we never contact you again.

7. Your choices

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what we hold about you;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop contacting you.

Email hello@trustpast.com. We answer within 30 days.

If you opt out, we keep your email address on our suppression list. That is how we make sure we never contact you again.

8. We do not sell or share personal information

We do not sell or share personal information. You apply to the buyer yourself; we share nothing with micro1 or Polyshares.

Your rights. You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we collect, use and disclose;
  • delete it;
  • correct it;
  • not sell or share it (we already do not).

We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
